Jaipur

बिरला तेम्प्ले
Birla Temple

This morning we woke up all refreshed. We finally had a good night sleep with an Ac that didn't wreck our heads! We had a nice breakfast and then met Khan for the second tour day in Jaipur.
Our first stop was Birla Lakshmi Naranyan Temple, (picture on top) It's totally made out of white marble and we absolutely loved it! If you ever decide to come to Jaipur, then it's a "must see"
Even though the marble is white, it's so hot that you have to tiptoe you way around at great speed to avoid your feet melting, but we didn't mind as it was worth the pain...No pain, no pleasure!
After that temple we went to City Palace, another beautiful place, we wandered around Jantar Mantar which is famous for collection of sun dial instruments. We had a little rest, sitting on the grass in the shade, where david read his book and i was so restless that i disturbed some giant ants in their holes and chased after squirrels to get some nice pictures. I had a blast!
We decided we only wanted a half day tour today as it was really hot outside. So to finish the day, we went to the zoo, and this is where it all started!
As we said from the start, there are people staring at us at all times, taking pictures like we're the "reincarnated buddha" or something, but the best was still to follow. We went to the zoo to look at some tigers, and other exotic animals, but instead we ended up being followed around by a pride of young boys. (Picture below). We were watched as we put sun lotion on, and sipped on water, all of our drinking habits were observed by the onlookers, as we walked, they walked, as turned, they turned, you get the point.... I can safely say that I know what it's like to be a poor defenceless animal. (Despite all that, I suppose the people just have not seen anyone like us before, although everyone tells me that there are many tourists here, so go figure). To top it all off, the zoo was not that amazing after all, as we were the endangered species on show there.
To end the day, we had a "curry in a hurry" and some Indian Masala Tea.
Tomorrow awaits Taj Mahal!!
Angela & David

Yes, they all followed us like we were playing "simon says"
