Cama Cama Camellion and Mendoza!

2nd - 4th March

David (A stroll in Independance park)

Ah the luxury of today came in the form of a cama seat on an overnight bus journey to Mendoza. We went with Flecha Bus company, and our seat had tonnes of leg room, really nice reclinor seats and of course a full food service. It is like being on a plane, only better. The movies played for a couple of hours, then came the hot food with a glass of wine too. Wehoo, its luxury and only at a fraction of the cost of a flight in South America.

We arrived in Mendoza safe and sound after a gruelling 18 hours. Not too tired either. So the search for a hostel began. We tried the Lao hostel first, however it was fully booked due to the popularity and the wine festival. The town was busy. Luckily after visiting a few places, we decided upon a hostel called Saviglianos. Nice, clean, good air conditioned rooms and a swimming pool (well a paddle pool really). We were pleased to have a place we can call home for the next few days and so we can arrange our long awaited bike wine tour.
Mmmmm interesting book me thinks

We had a stroll into the Independence square and chilled out there for a good few hours. Picked up a Pancho (meaning a hot dog with all the bits you could possibly want). Walked with a bottle on our heads, with all the local people having a good laugh about it. Tourists eh, nobody understands us. Lay on grass, played with a really active dog, who kept trying to snatch crackers out of our hands. Then read for hours while the Argentines slept for their siesta. (It is funny how the whole town shuts down between 1pm and 5pm), but thats how it is here. We got informed about all of our options from the tourist info and it was time for coffee.

David (Pancho Doble) a monster meal!

Angela (Bottle on head world record attempt........60 steps)
