31st July

Today was a suppose to be a day of adventure around the island on a motorbike! However, the rain woke us up this morning. I'm not just talking rain, i'm talkin' RAIN! So we decided to rent a small Malaysian car instead, a 660cc Perdua Kancil, these are tiny, tiny cars that barely get up the hill in first gear. But we were happy as it kept us dry, and had a Malay radio station to keep us entertained.
We drove towards the cable car attraction, which brings you up at a 42 deg vertical slope, and overlooks the island The scenery was spectacular from up there. At 710 m above sea level, the ears popped a few times on the way aswell. But it was worth it. You can even get a reflexology foot massage up there, if you need it of course.
Our second mission was to find the crocodile farm, we drove up and down the road and eventually got there, as the signposting was terrible for it. (Maybe not a great attraction, in that case). We enjoyed it though and have seen many croc fights while there, there were some angry individuals, who kept attacking each other. All for our entertainment, no doubt.
On the way back, we caught a sunset on a secluded fisherman beach, that was nice too to finish off the days activities.
So all in all a successful day, in a small car. But good to have the freedom to do what we want and when we want it, as tour pakages here are expensive, even in low season.
