Long live the King of Thailand

666 is the number of the Beast
999 is the number of the King in Thailand
(could also be used as an emergancy number)

Today we had a mission to go to MBK market. It's a big market located in Bangkok, brilliant for people that want to shop, and shop a little bit more!
We got a tuk tuk, and like all the time they say 1500Bath no stop, or 20Bath 1 stop. So we went for the one with 1 stop. It was a Tailor and actually perfect as David wanted to make a suit. It turned out to be a little bit more expensive then we thought but no one can resist Davids puppy eyes! And David is also well know for the bargains!
As we walked in we were surounded by many sales people, fabrics and fashion magazines. The way it starts is you choose the material and how many you want and then you discuss the price. And if you happen to pick the bad quality they always say "No, but Sir, this quality is much better for you" and they point to the most expesive section.
David chose by touch and look and of course with my help. So now time for the pricetag. ("Yes Sir, this is a very good price for you because you are a good man and very nice to me, €187 for a 3 piece cashmere wool suit" David says "Nooo, I thought Thailand was supposed to be cheap for suits" and then he starts walking. In no time at all the big enough Indian sales man says "Ok Ok Sir how much you want to pay?" So after a while of talking, discussing, talking, discussin he got it down to €123. Both is happy and off he starts the measuring and we left the shop. David has to come back tomorrow to do the final alterations.
Next and final stop was MBK. We had luch, we browsed and we found the thing we love the most: CINEMA! This time we went for a movie called "The Game" We sat down in these super duper comfortable seats and with about 1000 movie trailors, we got down to business. At last the movie trailors stopped and i sign came up on the screen "Please pay respect to the King of Republic of Thailand (999) We saw a short clip of him touching other peoples heads and kissing their hands, it was quiet touching to be honest. But the funny thing is, we had to stand up as a sign of respect. I looked at David, David looked at me, and both of us though "Well, this is new" Surprisingly enough the film was good. We left happy, and went in search of the tuk tuk home. We got another tuk tuk for 20 baht price with one stop, of course. He brought us yet to another tailor, and he was a cocky little shit of a young guy. When we were going into the shop, he was asking us to leave all our belongings in his tuk tuk while we look. We said no, because we are no longer stupid travellers. And lord behold when we got out of the tailors, he was gone. As David said, "the little shit". And we had to pay 80 Bath to get home (No more stops)
While David looked around on the internet, researching for a new camera I fell asleep (Ok, we do have 5 cameras already, but 1 more would not hurt).
So tomorrow we go SLR camera hunting!
