2nd of July. A day of laying, swimming, and hammock swinging on "Long Beach".
We started off by getting some 'cheap as chips' pot noodle in our shop of the year so far, the amazing, the unbelievably air conditioned, the "7/11". We then got a taxi boat to the white sandy long beach, and spent a relaxing couple of hours there, sunbathing and the like.
At sunset time we arranged to meet our new found friends in "Monkey Beach Bar" to watch the sun go down across the bay. And of course, what better way to do that, than with a cold Chang beer. After 3 fine cold Changs, going home early did not seem like an option, plus we had to say farewell to the Californian girls as it was there last night on this beautiful island. We went to "The Rock" restaurant for a snack, and were greated with a very funny host. His taking order skills were excellent. (Example: Angela:One Carbonara please! Waiter: OK, how many, two, three, four???? Angela: EHHHHH just one please. As you can imagine, this was the way he took the order from everyone.) After some more fine beers, we decided to give the Muay Thai boxing bar another chance, and on this occasion we did get to see some boxing. Very brutal, but fun to see, none the less. It did have a staged type feel to it, just like a wrestling contest. But hey tourist will enjoy anything.
We concluded the night, at another bar called "Breakers", where David sampled his first draught pint in one month, usually bottles is the norm. And we staggered home at 3 am, for a nice fan cooled sleep. David has woken up this morning, only being able to breathe through his mouth, as he has the biggest head cold known to man. And yes I know what you are thinking........"Its a hangover". But you are wrong, getting sick is what David does best, and so the day involves, more sitting, more laying, and maybe just maybe some swimming. Oh and one thing I forgot is most definitely eating.
